Build The Event Pool
This pool represents how many Crowd Points will be available during the Event, reflecting the crowd’s size and energy. The Audience Modifier icon shows how many Crowd Points get added. Add Crowd Points to the Event Pool as follows:
- Active Feuds.
- Each Title belt being defended by a Superstar.
- Each Title belt held by a player.
- All Gimmicks in play.
This step is slightly different in Solo Mode and 2 Player Mode.
Developer’s Notes
The Event Pool is a finite number of Crowd Points that are available to be awarded during an event. This pool represents the audience “physically” present at the event. Once the event starts, Crowd Points are not added into this pool, even if a new Feud erupts. All spent Crowd Points go to the General Pool.
This Event Pool is built in two different ways depending on which mode you’re playing. The game was originally developed for 3 - 6 players. Thus, the rulebook is written from that perspective and should be read entirely before attempting to play. Solo Mode and 2 Player Mode were added afterwards. The challenge with those modes included creating external conflict normally created by other players.
In the standard 3 - 6 Player Setup, the Event Pool is built using the Audience Modifier icon on the Gimmick, Title and Feud cards in play. In Solo Mode or 2 Player Mode, this rule still holds, but an additional d6 result of Crowd Points is added to the pool to simulate having more players that would theoretically have more Gimmicks, Titles and Feuds in play.
The Event Pool creates a sense of urgency. If the Commentator places you towards the end of Player Order, there’s a chance the pool will be empty by the time your turn comes around, and you might not get any Crowd Point rewards for your Drama phase or for winning your match. The way to overcome this is to Steal the Show. This invigorates the audience and allows you to steal Crowd Points from other players.
When you Steal the Show in a 2 player or 3 - 6 player game, you must steal any Crowd Point rewards you’re due, including Extra Rewards, from other players. During this period, other players are not allowed to spend Crowd Points in order to prevent you from stealing them. Crowd Points can also be stolen from another player’s Turn Tracker, but not your own Turn Tracker. In a solo game, there are no other players to steal from. So, you steal those Crowd Points from the General Pool.
