Developer’s Notes
The Longshot gimmick is inspired by all the underdogs that appeared inexperienced but likable and eventually overcame unsurmountable odds early in their career.
When this Gimmick is in play, it adds 1 Crowd Point to the Event Pool during event setup.
Only Openers can be a Longshot. If a Longshot advances to a higher tier, they must discard this Gimmick immediately.
The Longshot only has one ability. The 2 Crowd Point ability allows for automatic victory, even after a DQ result is rolled. This ability also forces you to discard the gimmick when used, and you can never be a Longshot again. This means, as a Face, you can’t use your Face ability to buy back the top discard of the Ring deck and play the Longshot again, but you could buy it to hold on to it and prevent others from getting it.
When you discard your gimmick, you must discard down to no more than 2 Attire in play.
The High Top Sneakers grant Longshots a higher bonus (+2), but if the gimmick is discarded and the High Top Sneakers are retained, the bonus will revert to the normal +1 bonus.
