Developer’s Notes

This gimmick is inspired by all the badasses in spikes and leather, often from parts unknown.

When this Gimmick is in play, it adds 2 Crowd Points to the Event Pool during event setup.

Dystopian has a trait that allows them to ignore the first DQ risk in their match. This could be any DQ risk – whether it be introduced by a Weapon, played by either side, a Run-In, or even the DQ Risk One-Shot. This represents the chaos and intimidation often surrounding this type of wrestler. The referee is either too preoccupied with what’s happening or they’re afraid to DQ anyone since it might anger the monster. The option to ignore is a choice. The Dystopian can choose not to ignore it, but they can’t choose to ignore another DQ risk. It says first and it means first.

The 2 Crowd Point ability enhances the normal “draw again” rule when you play a Weapon or One-Shot. Normally, when you play a Weapon or One-Shot, you get to draw another Gear card to your hand. This allows the chaos to continue. Dystopian can activate this ability to look at the top 3 cards of the Gear deck, take 2 of them to their hand, and place the last card back on top of the Gear deck. This represents the Dystopian’s ability to be resourceful in a pinch. Of course, they could forgo using this ability to simply take a single card from the top of the Gear deck instead, but it’s one or the other, not both.

Lastly, the Apocalypse Shoulderpads Attire gain a greater bonus when equipped by the Dystopian. These can be used as a Weapon in match. This option pairs well with the gimmick’s trait to ignore the first DQ risk in their match.

Like with all Weapons, it can be stopped or have its target changed. As with the Scepter or Signature Weapon, you don’t get to “draw again” when you tap-out Apocalypse Shoulderpads to use it as a Weapon.

When tapped-out, the granted bonus for Apocalypse Shoulderpads persists. You don’t lose the bonus for tapping it out.
