Angle Drama Feud Gimmick Manager Style
Developer’s Notes
The Ring deck contains several types of cards: Styles, Gimmicks, Managers, Angles, Drama and Feuds.
Normally, you’re only drawing from the Ring deck twice per event. Every player draws a Ring card, face down, in player order, before the first player begins their turn.
If you draw a Style or a Gimmick at any point, you can choose to discard it to the Ring discard pile and draw another Ring card. You can repeat this process until you draw a Ring card that is not a Style or a Gimmick. Of course you can choose to keep any Style or Gimmick card you draw. During the initial Ring card draw, you should wait for each player to decide if they’re keeping the card before drawing your card.
When each player draws their Ring card, face up, as part of their Roll Call phase, the same rule applies for Styles and Gimmicks that are drawn, but doing so runs the risk of an Angle or Feud affecting you directly. When an Angle card is drawn face up, it affects you. Some Angle cards will give you Heat or Pop. This can be good for you, if the Crowd Points awarded match your faction, but if it doesn’t, those opposing Crowd Points will go on to your Turn Tracker, increasing your chances of a faction change.
When you draw a Feud card, face up, it will likely affect your match.
The National Championship grants you the ability to draw your Roll Call card face down, meaning it will never affect you. You would have to play the card on yourself if you desired to receive its effect. This can be handy if you draw a Feud or Angle that would negatively affect you.
The manager, Sidekick, has an ability that allows him to absorb the effect of a Ring card drawn face up.
