Developer’s Notes

The Unnatural gimmick is inspired by all the dead-men, vampires, voodoo priests and horror-movie burn victims that have exhibited unreal and supernatural aversion to pain.

When this Gimmick is in play, it adds 3 Crowd Points to the Event Pool during event setup.

The 1 Crowd Point ability allows you to stop a One-Shot or Weapon used against you in your match. Stopping one of these cards simply renders it ineffective. No DQ risks are rolled for the stopped Weapons or if DQ risk was introduced, nor is there any risk of injury.

The key thing to remember with this gimmick’s abilities is that they are only usable by you in your match. You can’t use your ability to affect another match.

The 2 Crowd Point ability is like the No Sell card.

Remove the target’s Gear providing the highest bonus during your Match for the remainder of your Match.

Like No Sell, this means anything that’s considered Gear that can provide a bonus which includes Moves, Weapons, One-Shots, Attire and Titles. Since the pace of a match is not necessarily linear, that means the Gear that becomes invalidated can change throughout the match. When Unnatural first activates their ability, it might make the target’s Signature move invalid, but then the target plays a Finisher with a higher bonus. The Finisher would then become invalid and the Signature move’s bonus would enter back into the rank calculation.

This is meant to simulate the idea that the best the target had to throw at Unnatural had no effect.
